Life is always changing. Did you know that some changes could impact your renter’s insurance policy and coverage? It’s up to you to let your agent know about these changes so they can help keep you properly protected. We’ve put together a list to help you review your policy and trigger a call or email to your agent if needed:

  • Have you moved?
  • Is the coverage for the contents in your home, also known as personal property coverage, on your policy still sufficient?
  • Jewelry, firearms, fine arts and furs are typically limited to $1,500 total unless we’ve already made a change to it. Any reason to increase this limit at this time?
  • Did you get a new furry friend? Some insurance companies have exclusions for certain breeds of dogs. Please let me know the breed of dog if you have one.
  • Do you have any watercraft over 25 horsepower, dirt bikes or dune buggies that is not insured elsewhere?
  • Do you operate a business from your home, if yes, what type of business?
  • Homeowner liability claims can be costly. Check your liability limits and let me know if you’d like to explore increasing them. We also offer a policy that will cover an additional million dollars or more over and above your auto and homeowner policies for these types of claims. The premiums can be surprisingly low. Let me know if you’d like a quote.

We hope this was helpful. Please reach out to your agent with any questions you may have.
